Hi Friends,
SQL Server has seen terrific growth of its use and adaption over the years. From a simple DBMS product in 90s, it has gone all the way to become a prominent player in the RDBMS & BI space – the product offers a true scalable, extensible & reliable database engine & a very comprehensive BI platform. The wide-scale use of SQL Server, in large enterprises as well as small ones, has led to ‘more-than-required’ deployments of the product, causing headaches for DBAs to manage ‘so many’ instances on ‘so many’ boxes clubbed with virtualization & different editions of the product. Its time to undo. The un-planned & un-controlled installations have become unmanageable. So what’s the solution? Answer: CONSOLIDATION.
